Three VLCCs from the former Ocean Tankers fleet, sale now under the direction of Xihe Holdings are believed to have been sold, “PU TUO SAN” (318,833 tdw, Built SWS, China 2011, Wartsila) along with “TAI HUNG SAN” (317,924 dwt, Built SWS 2010, MAN-B&W) and “TAI SAN” (318,080 dwt, Built SWS 2009). No clear details of price/direction have been confirmed at the time of writing.
Sales of older VLCCs include Nicholas Moundreas’ “VOYAGER I” (299,996 tdw, Built 2003 Samsung, B&W) sold for US$ 25.1 million with dd due and ADS’ “ADS SERENADE” (299,152 dwt, Built Hitachi 2002, B&W – ss 3/2022) at US$ 25.5 million.
Norden has concluded sale of the product carrier “NORD INTEGRITY” (48,026 tdw, Built 2010 Iwagi Zosen, epoxy, 4 pumps, 16 tanks, MAN-B&W – next ss 2025) to European buyers at a price of US$ 16.1 million.
The Cape size daily T/C rate tumbled by 32% in the course of the week with the inevitable collateral damage to the BDI: 1477 (last week 1892); Cape size daily t/c US$ 19,952 (last week US$  29,429).
Nissen Kaiun has sold two Cebu-built Capes, “HUGE HAKATA” (180,643 tdw, Built 2012 Tsuneishi Cebu, MAN-B&W) to Zodiac for US$ 23 million and the one year older “COLOGNY” (Built 2011) for US$ 22 million to buyers tba.
Chinese are paying US$ 18.9 million for the Newcastlemax “SHIN-EI” (207,933 tdw, Built 2008 Universal, Japan, MAN-B&W – dd due 1/2021).
In an intra-Taiwan transaction, China Steel Corp. has sold Cape size “CHINA STEEL INTEGRITY” (175,775 tdw, Built 2002 CSBC, B&W – next ss 10/2022, dd due 11/2022) and 2003-built sister “CHINA STEEL RESPONSIBILITY” (next ss 1/2023, dd due 11/2020) to Eddie Steamship for US$ 9.2/9.3 million respectively.
Jebsen has sold a pair of Japan-built Kamsarmaxes, “BTG EIGER” (81,031 tdw, Built 2016 Japan Marine United, MAN-B&W) and “BTG EVEREST” (Built 2015) for US$ 46 million en bloc.
Scorpio continues its disposal program with the focus this week on Ultramax vessels. “SBI HERA” (60,425 tdw, Built 2016 Mitsui, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) has obtained US$ 18.5 million; “SBI HYPERION” (61,171 tdw, Built 2016 Nantong Cosco KHI, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) achieved US$ 17.5 million. In an en bloc sale, “SBI PHOENIX” and “SBI SAMSON” (63,310 tdw, both built 2017 Chengxi, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) have been sold to Navigare, Denmark for US$ 17 million each.
In a domestic sale, Toei Japan has sold “WEST TREASURE” (61,292 tdw, Built 2014 Iwagi Zosen, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) to other Japanese for US$ 15.85 million with ss/dd passed.
Sato Steamship has committed Supramax “ORIENT GRACE” (58,620 tdw, Built 2012 Kawasaki Japan, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – next ss/dd 5/2022) to a buyer at US$ 12.3 million.
Vinashin-built “CAS AMARES” (55,783 tdw, Built 2011 Hyundai-Vinashin, Vietnam, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – ss/dd due 5/2021) has gone at US$ 8.85 million.
Owners of “YUTAI BREEZE” (55,088 tdw, Built 2010 Nantong Cosco KHI, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – next ss 1/2025) received opening offers at around US$ 9.5 million, it’s believed a sale has been concluded in the high US$ 9 millions.
Handy size “UNICO SIENNA” (34,328 tdw, Built 2012 Dae Sun, Korea, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – ss.dd 9/2022) is sold for US$ 8 million. Turkish buyers are paying US$ 5.2 million for “IMKE SELMER” (32,648 tdw, Built 2010 Jiangsu Zhenjiang, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) – note vessel is due for ss/dd 11/2020. Vietnamese buyers have agreed to pay US$ 3.7 million for Pacific Basin’s  “TASMAN SEA” (28,456 tdw, Built 2001 Kanda, cranes 4 x 30 tons, Mitsubishi, 3 gens) – with ss/dd due in January.
Small feeder “KOTA MATADI” (618 TEU, 7,709 tdw, Built 2007 Huanghai Shipbuilding,
Cranes 2 x 40 tons, main engs 2 x Daihatsu) has gone at US$ 1.95 million.
Suezmax – two 157,000 dwt Suezmax ordered at Samsung for a/c Ocean Yield, Norway against 10 year charters to Nordic American Tankers including purchase options, deliveries May-June 2022.
Ice-breaking LNGs – six 174,000 cbm ice-breaking LNG carriers ordered at Daewoo for delivery within 2023, price US$ 283.3 million per vessel for charter to Novatek. Owners tba but there is speculation that the order may be split between Sovcomflot and MOL, three vessels each.
