Three pumproom type product carriers have been sold to Dee4 Capital, Denmark; they are “FREJA HAFNIA” (53,712 tdw, Built 2006 Shin Kurushima, 4 pumps, Mitsubishi) her sister “CITRUS EXPRESS” (also 2006) and a third newer vessel, “ORIENT STAR” (45,994 tdw, Built 2010 Shin Kurushima, 4 pumps, epoxy, MAN-B&W). No further details have emerged.
MR product carrier “ENERGY PROTECTOR” (51,319 tdw, Built 2004 STX Jinhae, IMO III, 12 tanks/pumps, coated, MAN-B&W) has achieved US$ 11 million, delivery ss/dd freshly passed.
Eastern Pacific has concluded sale of pumproom type “CEYLON” (46,001 tdw, Built 2002 Shin Kurushima, epoxy, 4 pumps, MAN-B&W – next ss 8/2022, dd 8/2020) to Indian owners Seven Islands, price US$ 7.7 million. A further vintage unit, “GLOBAL MARINE NO. 10” (45,858 tdw, Built 2000 Shin Kurushima, epoxy, 4 pumps, Mitsubishi) has obtained US$ 6 million – is due for ss/dd 5/2020.
Chinese buyers have purchased “CHEMBULK SAVANNAH” (24,426 tdw, Built  2002 Kitanihon, IMO II/III, 22 tanks/pumps, Mitsubishi – ss due 9/2019) for an undisclosed sum. Vietnamese buyers are paying US$ 7.8 million for the stainless steel “ESTOLAR” (8,803 tdw, Built 2005 Shitanoe, IMO II/III, 16 tanks, MAN-B&W).
The BDI gained 84 points to close at 2462 for the week (2378). Cape size daily T/C rates improved to US$ 36,921, a gain of almost 7% from last week (US$ 33,953).
Berge Bulk is paying US$ 25 million for the Cape size “BULK SUCCESS” (175,656 tdw,
Built 2014 Jinhai Heavy Industry, MAN-B&W – ss passed 1/2019). General Ore’s “HARRIETTE N” (176,213 tdw, Built SWS, China 2011, MAN-B&W) has been concluded to Chinese buyers at US$ 24 million, ss/dd freshly passed. An older Newcastlemax, “AZUL CHALLENGE” (203,277 tdw, Built 2004 Universal, Japan, MAN-B&W) has achieved US$ 16.3 million.
A pair of newbuilding Ultramaxes, Hulls 3731 and 3732 at Shin Kurushima (61,000 dwt, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – delivering from the builders 4Q this year, have been sold to Japanese lessors for US$ 28 million each; they will be bareboat chartered to Belships for 7 years with built-in purchase options.
A.M.Nomikos has purchased a pair of IHI-built Supramaxes, “K. GARNET” (55,705 tdw,
Built 8/2010 IHI Marine United, 4 x 35 ton cranes, Wartsila main engine) and sister vessel
“K. OPAL” (Built 9/2010), price US$ 12.5 million each. D’Amico’s Mitsui-built “MEDI VALENCIA” (56,014 tdw, Built 2008 Mitsui, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – next dd 8/020) has been sold to SR Shipping for US$ 12.3 million. Japanese owners have sold the Cebu-built “NORD EXPLORER” (58,803 tdw, Built 2009 Tsuneishi Cebu, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – ss/dd due 9/2020) for US$ 12.5 million.
Two Supramaxes built in China, “SCOTER” (56,837 tdw, Built 2012 Yangfan Group, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – dd due 5/2020) and sister  “PINTAIL” (56,880 tdw, Built 2011, dd due 4/2021) are sold for US$ 11.3/10.6 million respectively.
Indian buyers are purchasing the Panamax “YM VIRTUE” (76,610 tdw, Built 2003 Imabari, B&W – ss due 3/2022, dd due 3/2020) for US$ 7.35 million. ADM’s “HARVEST MOON” (73,040 tdw, Built 1996 Samsung, B&W – ss due 7/2020) is sold to Chinese buyers for US$ 4.5 million. “PACIFIC KNIGHT” (68,461 tdw, Built 1996 Imabari, Sulzer) is also sold to Chinese buyers, for US$ 6.5 million – presumably the vessel’s 4 x 30 ton cranes account for the large differential.
Chinese buyers are paying US$ 4.2 million for handymax “PAOLO U” (48,227 tdw, Built 1997 Oshima, cranes 4 x 25 tons, Mitsubishi, 7,226 ldt – next ss 3/2022, dd 7/2020). Handysize “ELENA K” (28,378 tdw, Built 2000 Naikai Zosen, cranes 4 x 30 tons, B&W) is sold at an disclosed level with ss/dd due 2/2020.
VLCCs – LOI signed between Hyundai H.I. and Capital Maritime for ten option four 300,000 dwt VLCCs with LNG/dual fuel capability, price US$ 110 million each, deliveries 2021/2022. Understood to be destined for long term T/C to Shell.
LNG – one 174,000 cbm LNG carrier ordered at Hyundai H.I. for a/c TMS Cardiff, US$ 188.84 million, delivery 1/2022.
LPG – Hyundai Mipo has obtained orders for four 38,000 cbm LPG carriers, two for a/c Thenamaris at US$ 49 million each and two for Nieto, Mexico at US$ 52 million – deliveries 2021.
Ethylene – Petredec Singapore has placed contracts for two option two 22,000 cbm ethylene carriers at Jiangnan, price about US$ 50 million each, delivery 2021.
Kamsarmax – Yangzijiang has received orders for three, one for a/c Kambara Kisen, two for others, no further details.
German owners – Vogemann-Ahrenkiel are going to Taizhou Kouan for four option four 40,500 dwt bulkcarriers, US$ 22 million each.
