Tankers:        
 
Newbuilding resale VLCC Daewoo Hull 5464 (300,000 tdw, delivery ex- DSME 1/2020) has been sold by Hartree Maritime Partners to a tripartite joint venture comprising George Economou, Idan Ofer and Stray Spetalen.
 
Euronav has sold three VLCCs to Chinese lessors for US$ 126 million en bloc. They are “NECTAR”“NAUTICA” and “NOBLE” (all 307,284 dwt, Built Dalian 2008). The vessels will be bareboat chartered back to Euronav for 54 months at an average US$ 20,681 per day.
 
Greeks are paying US$ 35 million for VLCC “JIN-EI” (299,998 tdw, Built 2005 Universal Japan, B&W).
 
Greek buyers have also agreed to purchase VLCC “RIDGEBURY PRIDE” (305,994 tdw, Built 2000 Samsung, MAN-B&W – ss due 11/2020) for US$ 25 million after an earlier sale at a higher price in October 2019 didn’t go through. Same vintage “TENYO” (281,050 tdw, Built 2000 Mitsubishi, also Mitsubishi M/E – ss due 8/2020) has been sold by Thai Oil for US$ 20 million.
 
A pair of modern Aframax tankers are reported sold to Minerva Marine for US$ 55 million each. They are “AQUAFREEDOM” (112,802 tdw, Built 2019 Samsung, MAN-B&W) and “AQUABLISS” (sister also built 2019).
 
 
New Shipping is buying Teekay’s “NARMADA SPIRIT” (159,199 tdw, Built 2003 Hyundai H.I., MAN-B&W – ss passed 10/2018) – a price in excess of US$ 19 million is reported.
 
Two vintage Aframaxes are changing hands: Zodiac’s “BLUE SUN” (105,856 tdw, Built 2000 Hyundai H.I., B&W) sold to Kuwait buyers for US$ 13.5 million and “NORTHERN PEARL” (108,468 tdw, Built 1999 Sumitomo, Sulzer); Greek buyers are paying US$ 7.8 million with dd due 1/2020.
 
Top Ships have announced sale of “ECO REVOLUTION” (39,208 tdw, Built 2016 Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard, IMO II/III, epoxy, MAN-B&W) and sister “ECO FLEET” (Built 2015). According to market sources a price of US$ 20 million each was agreed, although others report somewhat higher.
 
Indian buyers are paying US$ 13.5 million for “PYXIS DELTA” (46,616 tdw, Built 2006 Hyundai Mipo, IMO II/III, epoxy, 12 tanks/pumps, MAN-B&W).
 
“JAL SUNAYNA” (46,866 tdw, Built 2004 Naikai Zosen, epoxy, 4 pumps, MAN-B&W) is sold for US$ 9.9 million. “EVER GRANDEUR” (45,727 tdw, Built 2004 Minami Nippon, epoxy, 4 pumps, B&W – ss passed 1/2019) got US$ 9 million.
 
Marineline coated “GS FIGHTER” (17,527 tdw, Built 2008 Samho Shipbuilding, 14 tanks/pumps, MAN-B&W – ss 9/2018) has been sold by Golden Agri-Resources for US$ 12.2 million.
 
Stainless: Koreans are paying US$ 10.7 million for “ORIENTAL NADESHIKO” (12,480 tdw, Built 2009 Miyoshi Shipbuilding, INO II/III, 14 tanks/pumps, MAN-B&W);  Indonesian buyers are paying US$ 6.9 million for “SUNRISE SALVIA” (12,990 tdw, Built 2006 Higaki, IMO II/III, 16 tanks/pumps, MAN-B&W).
 
 
LNG:
 
In a cash generating exercise, Teekay is selling “WILPRIDE” and sister “WILFORCE” (160,500 cbm, Built Daewoo 2013, 4 Wartsila) to China Construction Bank for US$ 175 million each against 10 years bareboat back with repurchase options included.
 
 
 
Bulkcarriers:
 
A dismal beginning to the new year with the BDI closing at 774, substantially down from the 1123 recorded on the date of our last report on December 20, 2019. Similarly, on the same date the Capesize daily T/C rate stood at US$ 14,451 pd and today at US$ 9,438.
 
Noble Group’s Post-Panamax “OCEAN SAPPHIRE” (93,029 tdw, Built 2012 Cosco Dalian, MAN-B&W – last ss 5/2017) failed at US$ 14.85 million in November and is now sold for US$ 13 million to Greeks. Owners of Kamsarmax “MAJESTIC SKY” (81,949 tdw, Built 2014 Tadotsu Shipbuilding, MAN-B&W – dd due 4/2020) called for offers this week, she is now sold to Japanese for US$ 21.6 million.
 
A trio of Jiangnan Panamaxes from three different owners are sold this week, “SUDESTADA” (75,700 tdw, Built 2010 Jiangnan Shipyard, MAN-B&W) has been sold for US$ 11.25 million to Bright Navigation, Greece; ss/dd are due 6/2020. Two older sisters went to Chinese, “CALIPSO” (73,691 tdw, Built 2005 Jiangnan, B&W – ss due 2020) for US$ 7.3 million and “EDELWEISS” (73,624 tdw, Built 2004 Jiangnan, B&W) which did better at US$ 7.4 million having passed ss in 2019.
 
Sales of Japan-built Supras comprise “NORD EVEREST” (60,436 tdw, Built 2016 Oshima Shipbuilding, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) to Japanese buyers at US$ 23 million with 3 years t/c back to Norden. “NORD FUJI” (55,628 dwt, Built Mitsui 2011, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) is sold for US$ 13.7 million while an older sister, “FRIEDA SELMER” (55,718 tdw, Built 2004 Mitsui, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) has gone at US$ 9 million having passed ss/dd in December.
 
Four STX Dalian-built Supras sold by Chandris to Chinese buyers; they are “SERENE JESSICA” (57,275 tdw, Built 2011, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) at US$ 10.19 million,
“SERENE JUNIPER” (57,185 dwt, Built 2011) at US$ 10.16 million, “SERENE LYDIA” (57,573 dwt, Built 2010) at US$ 9.75 million and “SERENE SUSANNAH” (57,266 dwt, Built 2010) at US$ 9.9 million.
 
Sellers of “OCEAN KNIGHT” (56,808 tdw, Built 2011 Taizhou Kouan, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) appear to have turned a satisfactory profit, purchasing her in 2016 for US$ 7.5 million and now reselling for US$ 12.25 million. The similar one year older “VINCENT GEMMA” (56,872 tdw, Built 2010 Taizhou Sanfu, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W) has obtained US$ 9.8 million.
 
In other sales of handies, NYK has sold “GLOBAL GARLAND” (32,115 tdw, Built  2009 Hakodate Dock, cranes 4 x 30 tons, Mitsubishi – ss passed 2009) to Greek buyers for US$ 7.2 million with dd due. “MS CHARM” (32,449 tdw, Built 2010 Zhejiang Hongxin, cranes 4 x 30 tons, MAN-B&W – ss due 7/2020) did less well at US$ 5.2 million.
 
Canfornav’s “CANVASBACK” (34,420 tdw, Built  2011 SPP,  cranes 4 x 35 tons, MAN-B&W) has obtained about US$ 8.4 million. Same Owners have agreed to sell the laker “BLUEWING” (26,747 tdw, Built 2001 Wuhu Shipyard, cranes 3 x 40 tons, 6HH, B&W) – price undisclosed – and have placed sister “GREENWING” (26,747 dwt, Built Wuhu 2002) on the market for sale.
 
 
 
 
 
 
NEWBUILDING
 
 
Post Panamax – 95,000 dwt, one for Mitsui OSK at Namura, one for NYK at Oshima, 2023 – price unreported. 
 
Open hatch – two of 40,000 dwt OH type bukcarriers with three pairs of options at Yangzijiang for a.c Vogemann, US$ 24 million each, 2021/2022. 
 
VLCC – in Korea three of 320,000 dwt ordered at Hyundai Samho by SK Shipping (two) and Hyundai Glovis (one), US$ 94 mill each delivery SH 2021. Fixed 10 years to Hyundai Oilbank.
 
MR – Sovcomflot ordered three of 50,000 dwt at Hyundai Mipo with ice 1A & dual fuel propulsion. US$ 50 mill each, delivery 2022-2023.
 
 LPG – three of 84,000 cbm ordered by Nissen at Hyundai, about US$ 77 million each, 2022.
 
Container – Eastern Pacific has ordered six 15,000 TEU at Daewoo, US$ 128.5 mill each, delivery SH 2022, LNG/dual fuelOCAK 2.HAFTA o
